Subscriptions, Purchases & Refunds

How do I restore my premium purchase on a new device?

Open Tap Party and go to Settings from the home screen. Tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you used when you originally purchased.

Your purchase is tied to your app store account — not the device — so it will restore on any device using the same account.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store, not the app itself:

On iPhone / iPad (iOS):

  1. Open Settings → tap your name at the top
  2. Tap Subscriptions
  3. Find Tap Party and tap it
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription

On Android:

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions
  3. Find Tap Party and tap Cancel

You'll keep premium access until the end of your current billing period. Cancellation stops future charges only.

How does the Party Pack work?

The Party Pack ($0.99) gives you full premium access for 1 hour from the moment of purchase — perfect for a single session. It does not auto-renew. Once the hour is up, the app returns to the free tier.

You can purchase another Party Pack at any time, or upgrade to a monthly subscription or lifetime purchase if you use the app regularly.

I was charged but I didn't get premium access. What do I do?

First, try Restore Purchases in the app's Settings screen — this usually resolves it immediately.

If that doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the internet and try again. Entitlement checks require a brief connection to our purchase server.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the platform you purchased through, not by us directly:

How many players can I add?

Free tier: Up to 6 players per game.
Premium (any paid plan): Unlimited players.

What are the intensity levels?

When setting up a game you choose from three intensity levels:

  • Chill — Light, easy-going challenges. Great for new groups or a relaxed vibe.
  • Normal — The balanced default. A good mix of fun and daring.
  • Lush — Bold, more daring challenges for groups ready to turn it up.
What's the difference between Free and Premium challenges?

The free tier includes a solid set of challenges to get the party started. Premium unlocks the full library of 332 challenges — including 158 premium-exclusive challenges across all categories and intensity levels.

Premium also unlocks all interactive mini-games (dice roller, coin flip, timer, and random player selector) which are not available on the free tier.

Do I need an internet connection to play?

Mostly no. Core gameplay — challenges, dice, coin flip, timer — works fully offline once the app is installed.

A brief internet connection is needed to verify purchases when you first launch after buying premium, and for ads on the free tier. After entitlements are confirmed, you can play offline.

How does the Random Player / Roulette work?

Certain premium challenges trigger the Random Player mini-game — an animated roulette wheel that spins through all active players and lands on one randomly. That player becomes the target of the challenge.

This feature requires a Premium plan.

Can player names be saved between sessions?

Currently, player names are entered fresh each session and are not saved to your device or our servers. This is by design — each game is a fresh start, and it keeps your data private.


Troubleshooting

The app is crashing or freezing. What should I do?

Try these steps in order:

  1. Force-close and reopen the app.
  2. Restart your device.
  3. Check for an app update in the App Store or Google Play — we push fixes regularly.
  4. Reinstall the app — your purchase is tied to your store account, so reinstalling won't lose it. Use Restore Purchases afterward.

If the issue persists, email us at support@tap-party.com with your device model and OS version so we can investigate.

The dice / coin flip / timer animation isn't showing up.

These interactive mini-games are premium features. If you're on the free tier they won't appear. Upgrade to any paid plan to unlock them.

If you have premium and the animations aren't loading, try force-closing the app and reopening it. If that doesn't help, reinstall the app and restore your purchase.

Ads are still showing even though I bought Premium.

Go to Settings → Restore Purchases inside the app. This re-confirms your entitlement with our purchase server and should immediately remove ads.

Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account used during purchase. If ads persist after restoring, email us at support@tap-party.com.

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

We love hearing from players. Email us at support@tap-party.com with:

  • A description of the bug or feature idea
  • Your device model and OS version (for bugs)
  • Steps to reproduce the issue (if applicable)

Every report is read and helps make the game better for everyone.

Which devices and OS versions are supported?

Tap Party is built with React Native (Expo) and supports:

  • iOS: iPhone and iPad running iOS 15 or later
  • Android: Devices running Android 10 (API level 29) or later
